    The K.L.E.O. Community Family Life Center is an official site of the Greater Chicago Food Depository, and there will be free food–including fruits, vegetables, and meats–available to all. Come with a cart (or two!) to take free food home to your family.

    The food pantry will take place on the first Wednesday of every month, from 2:00-5:00p.m.

    In observance of National Diabetes Month, The Improving Diabetes Care and Outcomes on the South Side of Chicago hosts the 4th Annual Diabetes Cook Off Contest on November 14, 2015 at the Washburne Culinary Institute located at 740 West 63rd St, Building U, on the South Side of Chicago. Twelve amateur cooks will share their best diabetes-friendly, healthy recipes for a grand prize of $500 cash and many other great prizes! Come out to support your favorite semi finalist-amateur cook or just be be a part of the audience.

    The K.L.E.O. Community Family Life Center is an official site of the Greater Chicago Food Depository, and there will be free food–including fruits, vegetables, and meats–available to all. Come with a cart (or two!) to take free food home to your family.

    The food pantry will take place on the first Wednesday of every month, from 2:00-5:00p.m.

    K.L.E.O. is located at 119 East Garfield Blvd, Chicago IL 60637.

    61st Street Farmer’s Market & Tour! (Indoors)

    9:00 AM - 2:00 PM

    Come out and join us at the 61st Street Farmer’s Market (at 61st & Dorchester) every second Saturday of the month from January through April and every Saturday from May 16th – December 12th. (Events from November through April are held indoors, and events from May through October are held outdoors.)

    The Farmer’s Market accepts LINK and Senior coupons and will double LINK dollars up to $25 every week! Stop by the Market School Tent to learn more about healthy eating and to find out how you can receive Market Money to be used at the 61st Street Farmer’s Market.

    You can also take a tour of the Farmer’s Market and talk with local farmers about where your food comes from. Enjoy a half-hour chef demonstration and food tasting made with local organic produce from the Market.

    If you are interested in attending a farmer’s market tour, we encourage you to register in advance, as spaces are limited and can fill up quickly on the day of the market.
